Second Sight is a social practice project founded by artist Mona Gazala which aims to facilitate better cooperation between disadvantaged neighborhoods and gentrifying entities through art exhibitions, residencies, and other events. As part of a Second Sight exhibition, I filled a room at their Sign House space with 500 cast silicone doll ears as a way of injecting capital into the neighborhood using a self-issued alternative currency.

A kind of memento mori from a once vital mode of inter-generational communication; the book. By eviscerating a bound volume's pages, a form which in previous eras often surpassed the lifetimes of both its creator and appreciator alike, I wish to examine the transitory nature of any ideology's fleeting primacy.

In this work, every page of Emily Post's Book of Etiquette is eviscerated and reassembled.

In this work, a complete catalog of Norman Rockwell paintings has been shredded, reassembled, and suspended from an anthology of children's stories.

This elegant, one story cardboard beauty offers an inviting, custom accented entry featuring a charming garden gnome and renovated welcome mat. No detail was left unconsidered in the gorgeous entryway, opening onto the spacious master suite. A newly installed roof covers this exquisite, portable one bedroom, no bath home which has the additional benefit of being located within walking distance of wherever it's placed. Nicely updated removable newspapers allow transformation of the opulent master suite into a large formal living area great for family fun. Relax in unique out door living spaces as wind chimes and a Victorian looking globe lend a sophisticated character to this one of a kind property. An exceptionally beautiful home that promises to add curb appeal to any lush manicured lawn on which it resides.

  • The Cloud
(National Security Agency, Too Much Information, What The Fuck)

    The Cloud
The Cloud The Cloud Video The Cloud The Cloud The Cloud

The Cloud is an intervention that seeks to illuminate our interactions, either apathetic or unwitting, with the many modern technological advances of concern today. The Cloud is innocuous; it unassumingly engulfs us and we've been assured that living within The Cloud’s all encompassing embrace is not only a convenience but a necessity. Once you come to terms with the relationship, The Cloud can become an intimate partner with whom one shares the geography of their interior self.

The Cloud exists as both a physical visual signifier of our relationship with technology and as an intangible experience existing only online. This work is composed of mylar balloons which function doubly as a tangible representation of the cloud and, using the short acronyms preferred by internet users, as a visual joke. The base, which holds the cloud aloft, is a public WiFi hot spot that requires connected users to accept the National Security Agency's justification for the mass collection of internet data. This behavior mimics the majority of internet users tacit acceptance of a policy that has been in place for some time. After every minute of browsing using The Cloud's WiFi connection, users are redirected to the NSA's website.

  • MBA

    Masters of Business Administration
    MBA MBA

Success of the human species in the post-industrial era is predicated on an assumption that work in the service of economic development is the pinnacle of human achievement. The expansion of economic indicators has become the principle activity guiding the species' trajectory and the question of How this is done is asked in inverse proportion to the question Why this is done. MBA presents one accepted system of How.
